Frequently Asked Questions
Will your masks protect me against COVID-19?
No. The CDC recommends that we wear fabric coverings in public because they may slow the spread of the virus and prevent us from unknowingly transmitting the virus to others. Even with a mask, it is critical that we continue to avoid non-essential outings and maintain a social distance from others when in public.
How should I take the mask off?
The CDC says, “Individuals should be careful not to touch their eyes, nose, and mouth when removing their face covering and wash hands immediately after removing.”
How often should I wash my mask?
You should wash it regularly. You can wash and dry your mask in regular laundry machines.
Shouldn’t I just wear an N-95 mask or surgical mask?
While medical masks are more protective, the CDC recommends that they be reserved for use by doctors and nurses on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic. Some people are choosing to wear fabric masks because they are more readily available, and they don’t want to take N-95 and medical masks away from health care workers who need them most.
